Meal Information

How do I order my meals?

Please place your order via the website at

Follow the instructions and steps to view the live menu and place an order. Alternatively, you can place an order with us on the phone or email if you are having difficulties on the website.

 What is the minimum order?

The minimum order is 6 meals.

Where can I find macronutrients on the meal?

Macronutrients are listed on each meal and can also be found on the website at by simply clicking on the menu item.

What type of containers are my meals delivered in?

We deliver meals using BPA free, microwave safe, freezer friendly and recyclable containers.

What is the shelf life of the meals?

We use modified vacuum packaging to seal the meals for freshness. Please feel free to keep the meals in the fridge for up to 6 days. Refrigerator should be set between 0 to 4 Degrees Celsius. If you are unable to consume all the meals within 6 days, feel free to freeze the remaining meals for up to 3 months.

Do you use sodium in your cooking?

Yes we do, but we keep it to a minimum. Use the below information for reference.

Athletes meals – 150mg – 200mg

Gourmet, Keto, Paleo, Vegan and Weight Loss meals – 300mg – 450mg

Can I lose weight, gain muscle, and maintain my current body weight by including Protein Chefs meals?

Absolutely! Please feel free to mix and match meals from our menu to create your own personalized/ customized plan that best suite your goals and lifestyle. For customized meals, please email us with your customized portion sizes (cooked weight in ounces only). 

Please note – we do not customize vegetables.

What’s the fiber content in each meal?

The fibre content range between 4-6g / meal.

How do I warm up my meals?

There are two ways to warm up your meals. You can either pan heat your meals by emptying the contents in a pan on a stove top OR microwave your meals for 1.5 – 2 mins in the same container as the meals are delivered in. Microwave time may vary depending on the power of your microwave. Our containers are microwave safe. Please note: Remove any sauce containers before placing in the microwave.

Heating instructions are provided on the packaging of every meal.
Caution! Do not place the food trays in the oven!

Modifying Schedule & Cut-Off Times

What is the Cut off time for placing an order?

- Our order cut off time for Sunday and Tuesday delivery is PRIOR Thursday 12:00 NOON
- Order cut off time for Wednesday and Thursday delivery is PRIOR Sunday 4:00 PM
If your order was placed post our order cut off times, your meals would arrive to you in the following week on the delivery day/date selected with your order.

Can I make changes to my order?

Yes, you can! For any changes it must be made prior to the order cut off time. Any changes requested after the order cut off will not be considered. We only order fresh ingredients hence we follow tight deadlines implemented by the suppliers.

Shipping & Delivery

Where do we deliver?

We deliver across Ontario, Canada. After you choose a meal you can validate your postal code with the checker.

Can I pick up my meals in person?

Since we are an online meal prep company and operate from an industrial facility, we do not have a store front. But for any reason if you are unable to accept your package at your shipping address, please coordinate with us over the phone at 647-299-9863 or (833) 585-1613 and we can try and accommodate your request (but we cannot guarantee any changes).

What if the meals arrive at my door and I am not home?

If you would not be home for delivery and reside in a condominium, kindly ensure the concierge at your building would accept the delivery on your behalf. This is very important as certain building rules are very strict for perishables and do not allow the packages to be left outside the unit door for safety reasons. Hence the drivers are left with no choice but to take the package back with them. In such situation for a redelivery attempt same evening or next day an additional delivery fee of $15 will apply

If you reside in a house and are not home for delivery, the package would be left outside your door. If you are afraid of your package been stolen or missing, please ensure you are home to accept your package or prior coordinate with us to share your concerns.

We work with courier companies that send email/SMS notifications of delivery status. Please ensure you provide us with your correct email address and phone number, so you receive notifications of your delivery.

Please note – Protein Chefs would not be replacing or providing any refunds for packages left unattended by yourself on delivery day and for any message conveyed to us, next day for packages that were left unattended. We deliver perishable items hence your attention is required for attending the package in a timely way. 

Do I need to purchase Ice Packs?

We deliver in aluminum lined corrugated boxes (without ice packs). If you would like to purchase an ice pack, our website does provide this option at a cost of $0.99 each.

For 2 deliveries/week kindly purchase two ice packs if you would not be home for up to 4 hours to receive your package in person (not all customers prefer extra packaging material in their box, hence ice packs are optional).

How to store your meals when you receive your delivery?

Please refrigerate meals upon receiving them. Please ensure the meals are stored in a refrigerated temperature between 0 degrees C – 4 degrees C.

The shelf life of the meals is up to 6 days in a refrigerator. Any remaining meals can be stored in the freezer to prolong the shelf life of the meals.

What days and time do we deliver?

- We deliver Sunday and Wednesday every week between 5:00pm to 9:30pm (to areas that fall within the GTA)
- We deliver Tuesday and Thursday every week via FedEx (Overnight Shipping) or private courier (Same Day Shipping) anytime between 9:00am to 6:00pm.

If you are not home to receive your delivery, the package will be left at your door or concierge. 

Kindly ensure detailed shipping address, phone number, email address, buzzer code (if any), instructions for delivery (if any) are provided with your order to Protein Chefs. Kindly fill in the comments section, any special instructions that we need to know while placing your order. (Delivery instructions or food allergies)

Am I able to track my delivery in real time?

Yes, you can if you reside in the Toronto area. An ETA would be emailed to you 1 day prior to your delivery. On the day of delivery, you would receive a link sent via email to track your delivery in real time. You would also receive an additional SMS message when the driver is 2-3 minutes away from your address. Lastly, you would receive a confirmation via SMS and email when your package has been delivered. 

Please note: the drivers would not call upon arrival.

What happens if I have an issue with my order delivered?

We recommend, communicating with us via email about any incorrect meals/missing meals on day of delivery along with providing as much information as you have about your package delivered with photo’s as applicable sent to and allow us 1-3 business days to look into the issue and revert back to you with a resolution. 

 If any incorrect meals were consumed and then communicated to us. We would not be able to help correct the issue for you.

What happens if the food did not arrive yet and it’s already dinner time?

We do not deliver meals for same day! We deliver meals on Sunday for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and on Wednesday for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. 

If you have selected shipping option Tuesday or Thursday. Your week’s worth of meals would be delivered together.


How our weekly subscription works?

This is perfect for you if you would like reoccurring orders and avoid visiting website weekly. Your order will automatically be renewed exactly 7 days after your initial order was made. 

Every week, an email would be sent to you with a form to make your meal selections.

Once you subscribe, you may pause, resume, or cancel the subscription from your dashboard. In case of cancellation, you can do that anytime before its renewal. The renewal date is exactly 7 days after you first subscribed.

PLEASE NOTE: Since it’s a subscription, its your duty to manage this on your end such as pausing, resuming, or cancelling. Protein Chefs will not take responsibility if you forgot to cancel before the subscription renewal date or time.

What is the difference between one-time order and weekly subscription?

One time order is a single order placed for a week’s worth of meals (one-time payment) whereas weekly subscription is an ongoing weekly order, set on auto payment. Weekly subscription is an uninterrupted service until the subscription is paused or cancelled by the customer. 

What meal variety would 1 receive on a weekly or 4-week meal plan subscription?

If you have signed up for a weekly or 4-week meal plan subscription you will receive a link sent via email to make your meal selections starting from the second week for the duration of your meal plan.

If you did not make any meal selections for a particular week, we will make the selections on your behalf based on your initial or previous selections of meals.

e.g., if you selected proteins such as Chicken Breast, Steak, Ground beef, Salmon, Chicken Thighs, the following deliveries of meals will be based on these selections but will vary in flavours according to the current live menus. 

We recommend attending the email for meal selections on a weekly basis, if you would like to select your own meals weekly. 

Please note: 

Protein Chefs would not be refunding for any meals that you did not like, due to missing the order cut off time for meal selections on your end. 

We also do not refund for meals that were not to your personal liking. We prepare meals in batches with our standard tested recipes that are neutral to most clients. Hence, we provide a wide variety of meal choices. We always have something for everyone on our current Live menu’s that you would enjoy!

What happens if I forgot to pause/cancel my subscription and my food arrived?

Unfortunately, we are unable to help with this as we do consider every order processed/paid for before order cut off times. We cannot take the meals back or provide a refund in such scenario. Hence its important to manage the weekly subscription according to your needs.


Do we customize meals?

Yes, we absolutely do! but only the portion sizes. If you are following a specific diet plan or a fitness coach is assisting, you with your fitness goals we can help tailor your meals as closely as possible. However, we do not customize vegetables. 

Additional customization fees may apply depending on the portion sizes (cooked weight in ounces).

Do you accommodate allergies?

Yes, we do! However, please note we are not able to accommodate all allergy requests. Please contact us regarding your allergies prior to placing your order.

Please view the meal tags on the menu items to learn more about the allergens as most major ones are listed such as gluten free, dairy free, nut free, shellfish etc. However, if there are any other specific ones, you are concerned about, please send us an email at prior to placing your order.

Please mention in the notes section of your order if you are allergic to any ingredient(s) even if you have already selected the meals excluding the allergens. 

Note, if an allergen was not listed by you while placing your order (in the notes section) OR not communicated with us via email. We would not be responsible for the potential circumstances in such situation. It is as much of your responsibility as ours to be mindful of any allergens.

What if I am on medication?

If you have any specific dietary restriction, please consult your doctor before purchasing our meals.


What is your refund policy?

For any refunds, there will be a service charge of 0.0299% on the total refund amount. 

If the order cut off is exceeded, and your order was taken into consideration by our team, we would not be able to refund for that order since we cannot cancel or refund an order after the order cut off has been exceeded.
